Wedding Bells

Morning,

Been mad busy round here lately, wanted to share some more Altered Art items with you. This was originally a plain chip board suitcase, I was inspired to make it into a Wedding Keepsake which is for sale in my Etsy Shop.

I covered the case with a selection of design papers and then edged them with gold ink and heat embossed gold powder on top. The "Mr & Mrs" are chipboard letters which have also been covered and embossed and then glued on top. I attched ribbon to the handles which have also been distressed and aged.

The case comes with a personalised tag, which the customer would provide the details for and this is tied onto the handle. I think a suitcase is apt becauses it symbolises their new journey in life together.

The inside of the case has also been decorated with contrasting papers and I have added a poem to the lid.

Anyway, Thank you for looking. I have really really enjoyed making this, hoping to do some more....watch this space.

Memory Box

Hello world .....  if there is anyone left reading my blog lol.
I have been away creating, not on a regular basis but just when mood takes me and I have found it much more satisfying and enjoyable.
Anyway I've made an attempt at "Altered Art" (I use that term loosely) lol.

I got the plain chip board box from my local craft shop, I added to layers of white acrylic paint to it, decoupaged blue gingham "Craft Creation" papers to it and more layers of white paint. I let this dry and then added a coat of varnish and then sand papered the edges.

I also carried out the same techniques to the inside of the box. The papers to the inside are by "Studio 45".

I have added sentiments and vintage baby photos by Pion  from "Live Love Crafts".  I have added lace, ribbon, gems, pearls and roses.
The roses symbolise "Love" and the buterflies symbolise "New Life".

The panel on the top has been left blank for personalisation.

Thank you for looking.

The Bird

Hello Everyone,
Been busy enjoying my hols, but now the weathers turned a bit yuck i thought I'd share this card. An attempt at "White on White".

I used my "Birds and Swirls" embossing folder, "Bird Cage Die" is a Marianne's, pearls and flowers are from "The Ribbon Girl". The Keyhole is from "Live Love Crafts" and the swirls are another "Marianne Die".

The beautiful quote by "Maya Angelou" is a digi stamp from "Pink Petticoat and the gorgeous image is "Tropical Masquerade" by "Delicious Doodles". I have coloured this with my promarkers and highlighted with my white gel pen and clear stardust pen.

Thanks for looking

Be Your Own Beautiful

Good Morning everybody,
Sunny Sunday up here, gutted we didn't get any thunder or lightening yesterday (shouldn't grumble really). Anyway I've just discovered "Delicious Doodles" digi stamps - I'm in love with them all... so I treated myself to a few and this is the first i coloured up.
It is called "Dragon Dreams"

I have used an old "Basic Grey" design paper and picked out colours from it for my image, which had been coloured with promarkers. I have added a little sparkle here and there. The image and paper have been mounted on some old orange holographic card that I've had stashed away for at least 6 year or more! SHOCK.

I have tried to keep the design fairly clean and simple as I wanted the image to be the main focus of the card. The gorgeous sentiment is by "Pink Petticoat Stamps".The sentiment reads - "Be Your Own Beautiful".

Anyway, this is my favouritest card I've made so far this year.

Thanks for looking.
